Pick a piece of interactive technology in public, used by multiple people. Write down your assumptions as to how it’s used, and describe the context in which it’s being used.

There is a japanese steak restaurant call ikinari right next to my apartment. In my view japanese people have alot of good reputation about small detail that many people might overlook. Especially in design and technology Japan is one of pioneer countries that innovate new frontier of design. i I decided to observe how people use japanese restroom machine compare to American restroom.

My assumption : They design these machine to solve some some problem

Japanese toilet have many function from adjust water pressure to dry service even flushing sound and also effective for disability people

Context

Level of Cleanliness of everyone are not the same standard. Each countries have they own way to measure level cleanness. If you have been to japan you can see inner neat freak of people in Japan. rubbish bins on Japan’s streets is a bit of a mystery to many tourists. And when they have to design a toilet is a piece of hardware they included this kind of mindset inside of the machine

Experience

when i first move to United state i found that most of restroom here don’t have bidet spray. It took me a while until i get use to this situation. At the same time it make me wonder that nowadays we able to invent many futuristic innovative machine but basic significance for living life such as discharge feces from the body , Why we still using water pipe system and flushing toilet like 1,000 year ago without try to create self-cleaning, automated public toilet ?

Result

Just small difference of this japanese restaurants can make audience experience become completely different. I realize that finding a public restroom in New York City is notoriously difficult, which isn’t something you need in your time of need.
